Cream Linen Ardens

Oh, something different that I’ve made – another pair of Arden pants! I pretty much alternate between Ardens and Dawns for all my trousers these days.

I wanted another pair of linen Ardens for this Summer because I wear my black ones all the time, but obvs black isn’t always the best colour to wear when it’s really hot! Hence cream! These may not turn out to be the most practical colour, but I don’t much care!

I made the size 6, as usual, with a hefty hem (6-7cm, I can’t quite remember, but that’s what I usually do). The fabric is this cotton linen blend from Sew Me Sunshine. It’s a slightly looser weave than the black fabric I used for the previous pair, but while it’s slightly see-through (you can see the front pockets quite clearly), I did wear them with darker underwear and you couldn’t see them – though I’ll try to wear white pants just in case I think!

One of my favourite things about this new pair of Ardens is how well they go with one of my fav shirts! I made this jungle print Kalle a while ago but it doesn’t get as much wear as I’d like as I never really had much to wear with it (except jeans), so I think it’ll be in much more regular rotation this Summer than in previous years.

I’m not sure I can express how much I love the Arden pants pattern. I love pretty much all of Helen’s Closet’s patterns (I’ve recently made a couple of Gilbert shirts!) but this has to be the one I’ve made the most! At least 6 pairs of trousers, and 6 pairs of shorts! Have you got a pattern you’ve made a ridiculous number of times?
